When I was a little girl, going for pizza and a movie was almost a weekly event for my mom and me. I can remember it like it was yesterday. After I finished watching Saturday morning cartoons, my mom and I would go down to the local gas station, pick up a newspaper, and excitedly page our way through to find the movie section.
I’ll never forget scanning the page for the biggest ad. After all, the biggest ad was usually for the the most popular movie.
Most times we would also stop for pizza either before or afterwards. Of course, that never stopped us from filling up on popcorn, chocolate candy, and a drink while we were there either.
Sure, we tried to save some money by sharing our loot, but it wasn’t a dire necessities. Nowadays, we’re hard-pressed to go to the movies without giving it a second thought. In fact, nowadays, we tend to ask ourselves whether we should go for dinner OR a movie.
If you have similar memories and are now floored by the staggering cost of entertainment at the box office, I think you’re really going to enjoy this show!
