What’s the one thing you need when you run a business (or one of a number of things, anyway)? The answer is customers! Without customers, you’re not making any sales, and without sales, you’re not making any profit. No profits means your business isn’t successful.

That’s why one of the most important things you can do in business is to find new customers. You’ll hear a lot of advice that talks about keeping your existing customers happy because they’ll tell other people about your business, and they’ll come back to buy more, and that is true and is a crucial thing to remember. However, if you truly want to find success, you’ll need new customers as well as old ones, and finding unique ways to bring them to your business can really boost your profits and reputation. With that in mind, read on to find out more.

Throw A Party

If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to find new customers, you can do a lot worse than organizing a fantastic party for them. It’s likely you won’t have thought about doing this before, but that’s great – it means your competitors probably haven’t considered it either, so you’re already ahead.

Hiring a venue (or using your own office, store, or restaurant, if there’s room), laying on catering and drinks, and even throwing in some fun elements to keep people happy, like party game rentals, will create a party that people will remember for a long time to come, and a positive event that they’ll always associate with your brand, business, and products or services.

Make sure that you have samples of your products around for people to check out or that you and your team are available to help with any queries people might have about your services, and it could be that you’re able to find some new customers there and then. Even if that doesn’t happen, you’ll certainly find that new customers start contacting you after the event when they realize you can help them.

Host Giveaways

Something that people really love is free stuff. It doesn’t matter what it is a lot of the time, if it’s free, they’ll be interested. Of course, the things you give away must be high quality, and they’ll need to be a good representation of what you sell, otherwise you’re missing out on a golden opportunity to find new customers.

Choose a product to give to potential customers that you feel really showcases precisely what your business does and how it works. It doesn’t have to be a particularly expensive item (in fact, it’s better if it’s not), but it should be something that exudes quality and is a good representation of what you do.

Then, you’ll need to run a competition of some sort so that people sign up to enter. In that way, you can gather their data and use it for targeted marketing (or even reminders about you in the form of a newsletter, for example). The competition should be easy enough to enter so enough people do it, but still feel like a challenge so when someone wins, they really feel like they’re being rewarded – add all that together, and you’re going to find plenty of new customers (even if people don’t win, they might still start shopping with you).

This is the kind of thing that people will want to share on their social media profiles if they win, so the more fun and exciting you can make it, the better. Send out the prizes in a lovely box so that the unboxing experience becomes part of the reward, and you’ll be amazed at the way this can garner a lot of attention.

Free Samples

Depending on the type of business you run, you might be able to offer potential customers free samples of whatever you sell. If you run a restaurant or cafe, for example, you could stand outside with some bite-sized examples of the food you serve – let passers-by taste the food, and they might be tempted to come inside. Or, if you run a clothing company, you could offer samples of the materials you use; you’re not giving away an entire piece of clothing, but potential customers can still feel the quality of what you use and make a decision about buying.

Trying something new is always a big deal for people, and if you can make it easier by giving them a sneak peek of what to expect, it makes their decision much easier, and you should find new customers coming forward to buy from you.
